Star Wars The Last Jedi (spoilers included)
Saw it yesterday with the boy who is a huge stars wars fan and even he thought it was poor , action scenes are awesome especially in 3d but the story line is all over the place. The characters are really shallow as well, the swashbuckling kind of characters have gone. Luke sulks his way thru 3/4s of the film and resistance is down to about 10 people by the end of the film. The only twist in the film you can see coming from miles away. Oh well i guess a lot will like it.

I thought the Force Awakens was poor as well; but really enjoyed Rogue One. I think for us old gits the stories that tie Episode 3 into 4 will appeal to us rather than Episodes 7, 8 and 9. to long a time has passed since Jedi for us to be excited about these as they choose to do the prequels rather than carry on forward.

I liked it.

The scene where Leia flies through space was a bit silly and I didn't like the whole bit on the casino planet, seemed really out of place.

The Phantom Menace is 20 years old next year. I wish Lucas had carried the story on then when Hamill, Ford and Fisher were so much younger instead of the shit prequels.

The Leia thing was just stupid and kind of typical of Disney.

Rogue One is, by far, the best of any new Star Wars film made since Return of the Jedi. In fact, I put it up with the first three although Empire just nicks it for me.

The first three were ok as a necessity to start the story. Phantom Menace was, in itself, not great and I think they progressively got better.

The Force Awakens was good enough although for me felt a little dis-jointed. I am going next week to see Last Jedi but if it's like Force Awakens I will be a bit disappointed I think. I have heard mixed reviews.

Rogue was very good i think, but so much of the last jedi was dumb. So many weak characters. Kylo Ren is about as scary as a Chelsea fan, Snoke was pathetic but i did like the ginger guy incharge of the fleet his dry humour was quite good.

It was good not great. Tapped into some old feelings. Some good battle sequences.

Not near as a menacing place as at the end of Empire. For a lot of reason, some plot, some character

Some stretches of the technical believably.

Love Benecio in most everything, little bit wasted.

Overall good watch.

Quite enjoyed it, went at a decent pace but for a couple of slow moments. Would like to have had more of R2-D2 & C-3PO in both theses last 2 film. Loved seeing Ade Edmonson as Hux's right hand man at the start.

Re: Star Wars The Last Jedi (spoilers included)
One of the most dissapointing, missed opportunities we will ever see from a Star Wars film, mainly due to the fact that....

Seriously, don't read below if you haven't seen it yet, massive spoilers..

..

...

LUKE SKYWALKER, played by Mark Hamill himself didn't get any saber fight scenes, you get a half arsed flashback scene and a hologram projection of him. Now without sounding morbid but with Han no longer in the saga, Carrie's passing, Mark isn't exactly a spring chicken so who knows how long he has left, without sounding too morbid. You have him back in the role to really show him being a baddass. Meant to be "The most powerful Jedi in history." and literally does.. erm.... he buys time with a hologram projection and then dies. Waited all these years for that cop out. I feel gutted, truly.

To think we will never see Luke in living form in Star Wars ever again, after having Mark Hamill at your disposal to play him when it is evident with Carrie that this opportunity should be cherished is frankly disrespectful.

Not to mention the below points as well:

- Snoke: Ah who cares where he is from, or who he is or how he is so powerful.

- Rey: Ah, her parents? (whether Kylo was lying or not) let's just say they are nobodies. Underwhelming.

- Knights of Ren? Ah, nobody wants to see them or how they formed, or that attack on the planet Luke was on. It seemed like Luke goes to confront Kylo and then bam Kylo crushes the room goes away, gets his suit on, returns with KOR all within the night? Even though he wasn't turned at that point? Poor.

- Finn: Great character. John is such an energetic force with great charisma, yet in this one he basically becomes a side character with a token Asian to promote Black and Asian mixed political message forced down our throats. Now let me just say I have no issue with that, but because the two actors had no chemistry and it felt so forced it made it stand out massively and that is the reason I mention it.

To have him moments away from dying and sacrificing himself to save the resistance would of actually been quite powerful, the fact she pushed him out the way to save him because she loved him, putting the whole resistance in jeopardy is laughable and again ridiculous. Their whole side plot with the Casino was boring as well. They also had to chuck in another "animal cruelty is bad" message and a "people who make money from war, BADDDD" message. Again, both are bad, but when I see certain movies I want to escape from reality for 2 hours and just be entertained, not have messages forced down my throat. There is a time and a place.

Phasma: So they bring her back with no explanation as to what happened with the whole garbage shoot/trash compactor scene, giving her even less screentime than TFA as she is then killed within minutes. Seriously?

I truly had such high expectations for this movie, but I feel it is one of the biggest missed opportunities a film will ever get, when you consider the age Mark Hamill is now, which is very sad, but the harsh truth what with Carrie's recent sad passing.

It did have a couple of good scenes though, my favourite being the Rey and Kylo Ren team up where they took the whole room on.

Adam Driver as Kylo Ren being the biggest positive from this movie for me, I thought he was very good and is the one with the most character development.

JJ Abrams got cunted off for remaking A New Hope. Rian Johnson is getting cunted off for NOT remaking The Empire Strikes Back. Definitely a case of. Damned if you do.Damned if you don’t.!

Disney are three films into trying. Somethings have worked. Somethings haven’t. But it a shitload more entertaining then anything Lucas would have cooked up.

Re: Star Wars The Last Jedi (spoilers included)
Yeah, bang on, RBshorty. Disney, who bought the franchise built by Lucas from scratch and have barely come close to matching the peak of Lucas' creation have done miles better than anything Lucas could do.

*smokes more crack*

Since the Original trilogy. Lucas has been gash. Disney have been an improvement. But I never suggested that they were better than the Original trilogy. And apologize to anyone who thinks that what I meant.*

Re: Star Wars The Last Jedi (spoilers included)
Saw this today and was feeling a but let down when I left the cinema.

After some reflection, I think it very poor indeed.

1. Luke Skywalker. This guy was supposed to be the most powerful Jedi. This is a guy whole faced Vader because he felt some good in him. Since ROTJ there has been countless stories about his life etc. In this film all that was ignored and he is portrayed as a coward all because his nephew turned to the dark side. Yet Rey, an unexpected untrained Jedi could somehow feel the good in him but his Uncle couldn't?

No wonder Hamill hated the script, it was a pathetic interpretation of what was a hero. Then to add insult he didn't even get a final.battke and instead a hologram of him was used and he died on a rock. A shocking way to kill off his character.

2. Characters we care not about. The whole sub plot about Finn and his bird was a huge waste if time. Benito's character was a huge waste of time. Saving fucking hairless ton tons was a huge waste of time.

3. Characters we care about. Captain Phasma WTF? An actor as good as she just playing a character as good as that gets 5 mins.screen time then dies to a rookie failed Storm trooper? Fucking abysmal story telling.

4. Leia becomes superwoman dead in space and recovers from a coma in a few hours. No comment just a laugh out loud moment.

5. Snoke. This all seeing all powerful evil villain basically hisses at a few people then gets killed pretty easily by a sabre. No back story, no information about his origin, nothing. Made the Character totally pointless.

6. Rey. Weak scenes with Luke, no back story about who she really is or her parents (apart from Kylo saying they are drunks) and really really bad acting. The scene where she went into the hole and then clicked her fingers was ridiculous and pointless. No reference to the force visions she had in the first film where Kenobi spoke to her.

7. Porgs. Didn't even get told their name just a waste if time and clearly there for merchandising.

8. No reference to Solos death (properly).

9. Yoda scene made no sense.

10. Where the fuck was Ezra??.

Basically it was a film about ship running out of fuel which made no attempt to answer any of the questions presented in the first film.

I can't remember the last time I was so excited to see.a.film and left so disappointed once I had reflected upon it.

Give me Rebels over that any day of the week.

I'm surprised that people who can't tell that the whole Star Wars thing is shit can tell that bits of it are shittier than others.

So the original cast all get ironed out..to make way for these talentless newbies.

Top move.

I was only interested in these sequels because of the original actor 's .
Lost all interest in this nonsense altogether now Luke has gone

Re: Star Wars The Last Jedi (spoilers included)
You are all missing the point here.

The reason Star Wars is unwatchable tosh is that it does not respect the laws of physics.

Space is a vacuum. Sound is a pressure wave that requires a medium - air, water etc - to travel. In a vacuum there can be no sound yet Star Wars has spaceships roaring through space and exploding with a bang. This is clearly impossible.

Similarly Star Wars space ships appear to bank when flying along. In a vacuum there is no point banking because there is nothing for the wings to push against.

These films should be banned because they teach the public erroneous lessons about important scientific concepts.

Oh and the plot is absurd.
